The Northside at McEwen has been reserved for a large-scale town-center-style development. However, with the lack of available financing for the scale of project that Northside will yield, the development for this portion of McEwen has been placed on hold for the near future.

Townhomes and condominiums which have been part of the Northside masterplan from the beginning, have not been finalized in terms of their design, and a construction roll-out has not been scheduled. In 2009, Southern Land Company announced a contest that enlisted the children of Williamson County Schools to create outdoor murals with their interpretation of what McEwen would become.  The results were fantastic and Southern Land awarded all the schools with art supplies and a lot of public attention for their inventive and colorful artwork.
